Thanksgiving is often pictured as a time when families gather and harmony reigns. Movies frequently show another side. The families get together and then dis-harmony reigns. Then again, what would a movie be without conflict.
I saw in the news that the mayor of Seattle started a new tradition for that city. He pardoned a tofurky. Bravo Seattle! For our Thanksgiving this year we are doing something a little different. We have invited the congregation to the church for a Thanksgiving dinner. We will have the traditional turkey, ham, and for us vegetarians, tofurky. Ten or eleven people have said they are coming and it should be a lot of fun.
We do have so many things we are thankful for. I am most grateful for the people in my life.
Peace,
Fr. Fred
