Sherry bought a gazing ball for the back yard the other day. They seem to have a kind of magical quality about them. If you look carefully at this one you will see a reflection of me taking this picture. I think maybe back in the day and maybe even today, people believed gazing balls would help them look into the future. I am pretty sure it doesn't work that way.
Paul (the biblical Paul) believed the end times for the world would happen in his lifetime. It didn't happen. None of us know the future and that, I think, is a good thing. It is not a bad thing to plan for the future as long as it doesn't get in the way of living today.
