I have a friend who is coming over tonight to meditate with me. She is dealing with serious medical issues and I offered to help her by teaching her meditation. Meditation is sort of like riding a bicycle. You can read all kinds of books on how to ride a bike but it isn't until you have gotten on that you really learn how to do it. Like a bike, meditation has a lot to do with balance. People can get off balance mentally and spiritually and meditation can bring the body and mind back in alignment. It also requires self discipline and people aren't always interested in that.
She is doing well with her meditation and I am sure it will be useful to her on her life's journey.
