The Royal Wedding & The Bishop

Many of us Episcopalians were quite impressed with Presiding Bishop Curry's address at the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle. He was true to form as I have watched his preaching in the past. It was clear that he spoke from the heart and sent his message of love to the millions of people watching and listening.

He is a man I admire.

I will post my humble sermon on this blog tomorrow.

Welcome to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church! Please join us for worship (Holy Eucharist Rite II) at 9:15 a.m. any Sunday. Coffee and conversation in the Fellowship Hall follow. We are located on Highway 14 North in Chariton just south of the main entrance to the Lucas County Health Center.

Our congregation is a member of the world-wide Anglican Communion, of which the Church of England is the mother church. We are a member parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa and the Episcopal Church, USA.

The Episcopal Church strives to live by the message of Christ, in which there are no outcasts and all are welcome. We cherish diversity. Walking a middle way between Roman Catholicism and Protestant traditions, we are a sacramental and worship-oriented church that promotes thoughtful debate about what God is calling us to do and serious consideration of how best to be followers of Christ.

The center of our common life is the altar where the Eucharist (Holy Communion) is celebrated every Sunday. We invite to the Lord's Table all baptized persons without regard to denominational affiliation who confess the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ.
