If there is a common symbol in all of Christianity it is probably the cross. I am told it was not so in Christianity's beginning. It was more common to use the symbol of a fish and loaves. I have often wondered what Jesus would say if he came back and saw all these crosses around. For my purposes, I will never forget that Jesus died for me on a cross but I must admit my symbol of preference is a fish. I love the metaphor of being fishers of men. For me it is a call to action. I am called to share Christ's message with people in my life.
