We had a major storm pass through our community last night. I was sitting in our living room about 9:30 and I heard this incredible wind outside. Then, there was a loud cracking sound and finally a thunk. I peeked out a window and saw our massive soft maple tree laying across our circular drive.
It was a reminder to me that I am not really in charge of anything. I see all of these disasters on the evening news and lots of simulated disasters at the movies but I don't really get the message until it hits closer to home. If the wind had been blowing in a different direction that massive tree could have fallen on our house and I might not be typing right now.
Thank you God for the wake up call!
